Scalable 4 x 28 Gb/s photodiode array with separate anode and cathode pads for each channel. The 1 x 4 array is designed such that the photodiode pitch of 250 μm is maintained across the border of the 1 x 4 basic cell. The photodiode pitch of 250 μm is suitable for coupling to fiber ribbon cables. The basic cell can be repeated n times to provide scalable arrays of 4, 8, 12 or more individual photodiode channels.
The top illuminated p-i-n photodiode structures are optimized for long-wavelength, high-throughput parallel optical interconnects, microwave photonic and RF over fiber links as well as test and measurement applications. The photodiode array offers an excellent responsivity and high speed of response in the wavelength region from 1260 to 1620 nm.
