2023 Lightwave Innovation Award for Albis Optoelectronics
Rueschlikon, 8 February 2022 – Albis Optoelectronics announced today that its PQS40A-L was recognized among the best by the 2023 Lightwave Innovation Reviews. An esteemed and experienced panel of judges from the optical communications community recognized Albis Optoelectronics as a high-scoring honoree.

The photodetector PQS40A-L features an exceptionally high responsivity of 0.8 A/W combined with a bandwidth of 40 GHz and high linearity up to an average photocurrent of 10 mA. The optical input is supplied through a single-mode fibre pigtail with an angled polished, low-reflection FC/APC connector. The bias voltage is supplied by DC pins through the internal bias-tee. The RF K-connector output is DC coupled and matched to 50 Ω with a high electrical return loss of at least 5 dB up to 35 GHz. The compact, rugged and hermetic package makes the detector ideal for installation in systems with limited space, operated under severe environmental conditions.
Judges comment: “The PQS40A-L is a very capable RF output photodiode. It could form the heart of an optical-to-electrical conversion for a range of applications. The combination of bandwidth and responsivity is excellent.”
