Scalable 4 x 12 Gb/s photodiode array with separate anode and cathode pads for each channel. The scalable 1 x 4 array is designed such that the photodiode pitch of 250 μm is maintained across the border of the 1 x 4 basic cell. The photodiode pitch of 250 μm is suitable for coupling to fiber ribbon cables. The basic cell can be repeated n times to provide scalable arrays of 4, 8, 12 or more individual photodiode channels.
The top illuminated p-i-n photodiode structures are optimized for long-wavelength, single-mode telecom and datacom applications, microwave photonic and RF over fiber links as well as test and measurement applications and offer an excellent responsivity and high speed of response in the wavelength region from 1260 to 1620 nm. The photodiode array is available with a pad metallization optimized for wire-bonding or flip-chip soldering.
